Tracking Devices
Depending upon your requirements we use a variety of third party trackers including our own Trans Data Tracker. The Tracker contains a 16 channel GPS Receiver and a smart data logger chip coupled to either an internal GPRS modem or external Satellite transmitter for data transmission.
The Tracker retains a record of travel positions and operational data, which is then transmitted back to a central database according to set time periods. Periods can be as short or as long as required but they are generally every 5 minutes. Data collected and returned to base can include:
- Run start and finish times
- Distance traveled (varied on speed).
- Input alerts (e.g. door open, engine idling).
- Ignition On Off
- Vehicle Stationary.
- Vehicle speeding.
- Panic/Breakdown alert button.
- Rapid acceleration or deceleration.
- Logs are retained for future reference, such as in case of an accident, when the last few minutes of vehicle travel can be visually shown on the map and reported upon
